CardsbyMarianne is a blog that is not only about cards but also scrapbooking, papercrafts, mini albums and trash to treasure projects. I love to work with dies, patterned paper, embossing folders and various punches. In short, I love crafting and I can't wait to share it all with you. Thanks for visiting and for leaving me a comment!
I love to read your sweet comments on my blog. I welcome all of them and feel that I can only grow with comments both positive and sometimes even negative. In the last little while I've had a bunch of spam left on my wall so I'm changing the way comments will appear. They will need to be approved by me before they show up on the blog. Thank you all for understanding.
I'm not sure what it is but I seem to have this passion for anything that has teapots or teacups on it. I once wanted to decorate my whole kitchen with wallpaper that had teapots and teacups all over it. Hubby quickly put his foot down on that one. LOL. Normally he leaves any decorating or colour schemes up to me but the teapot/teacup thing was a big no. LOL
Lia has got some new stamps out and of course this one caught my eye when I saw it. I decided to use it for this challenge and do it in some really bold colours. I have used white puffy paint on any of the areas that are white on the flowers. I love this turquoise/red/white colour combination. I do need to work on the colouring. I made several attempts and finally did one that had marker outlining the print and then filled in with pencil crayons. I didn't have enough colours in my Copic markers to do this and had even tried my hand at watercolours. Nope, I need lots more practice. On another note, here's an update on the whole house hunting thing. We are still trying to sell our home but we have found another one that we've put an offer on. Our offer has been accepted with the condition that we sell our house, get financing and have a home inspector go through the new house. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
I haven't had any time to make cards lately. As some of you know, we are getting ready to move. I would say that 1/2 to 3/4 of the house has been packed up, craft room included. We have our FOR SALE sign out and it's been up for about 1 week now. We've had so many people coming and going in the last couple of months. We had painters, carpet cleaners, cleaning ladies and now agents and their clients. It's tough to try and keep your home immaculate all the time and still maintain any kind of normalcy in your everyday life. We don't cook much these days because we never know when we're going to get a call that someone wants to see the house. The part that is really killing me is the no crafting. I used to sit everyday and make cards or do some type of crafting and now I just am not able to do it. I did however, pack an emergency kit of crafting goodies in case I felt like I was going insane with withdrawals or I needed to make a last minute birthday card. Lia Stampz has some new stamps out that are just adorable and I couldn't wait to use them. I wish now that I would've printed them out a little larger but for now it will have to do. I will update on the move as I have more news but for now; enjoy!
